I wonder why Mary Higgins Clark always makes a song the title of her books. You belong to me... I really dont find the title catchy I wouldn't have read it if I wasn't bored and if it was by any other author but its Mary Higgins Clark! How could I possibly resist? This book is about a woman Dr. Susan, a psychologist and a radio host. It all started when she talked about vanishing women and ways women can protect themselves and what leads to women vanishing, with a guest psychiatrist and author of a book 'vanishing women' on the show. In the usual Mary Higgins Clark twist, there was a killer, a man who enjoyed killing lonely, vulnerable women on cruises after sweet talking them to come away with him and giving them a cheap 10bucks turquoise ring with the inscription, 'you belong to me' in it. Dr Susan began to investigate the disappearance of the woman she used as a case study on her show after a mistery caller claimed to have experienced something
similar while on a cruise and also to have a picture and the turquoise ring described on the show, the caller agreed to meet susan but never showed up. Leading to deaths and making Dr Susan the next victim.
The book contains a lot of secrets. You have to read the book to fully understand and enjoy it. Half way through the book I could guess who the culprit was and right I was. This book is shocking, captivating but contains too much details, too much 'cameo' characters. It was kind of sluggish at a point and any Mary Higgins Clark think alike could easily guess the end like I did. I also read this online from 1pm to 7pm (interrupted).. :)
